Inspired by the brand founder's three-year-old daughter—a "tough little strawberry" who is both fiercely bossy and deeply sensitive—this perfume honors the soft heart inside every tough exterior. The goal was simple: to create a true, high-quality strawberry fragrance that brings immediate comfort.
Tough Berry opens with sharp blackcurrant, pink pepper, and rare petitgrain tangerine from Xinhui, China, which gives the fragrance a crisp, green texture that mimics the unique texture of real strawberry seeds.
In the heart, fresh strawberry blends with kumquat bring out the fruit's flesh and create a burst of bright, juicy sweetness, rounded out by sunny ylang-ylang and osmanthus. Finally, a blend of grapefruit and earthy notes create a subtle sense of emptiness. The watery freshness of lily of the valley, along with the creamy warmth of vanilla and musk adds depth: like water and honey seeping from a wound.
