To celebrate the 2024 festivities in Paris, Headspace is launching Cèdre. A meeting between a beloved perfume wood (cedar), rarely used so purely in solinote form, and a Headspace flame. Together, they symbolize the illumination of Paris, the City of Light.
The flame, finally arrived from Mount Olympus for these celebrations, strikes the wood of a match like a forgotten book, miraculously discovered in a bookstore. We stroll along the Seine, “a river framed by two rows of books,” as Cendrars wrote, carrying with us the scent of paper and words. When the streetlights come on and night falls on the City of Light, wisps of wood smoke rise into the air — captured in this bottle.
A flight of dry wood notes floats through the air, enlivened by the shimmer of nutmeg and cumin, before meeting a Headspace flame in a crackling accord of amber and vanilla.
Cèdre is a modern, pure woody fragrance that combines two types of cedar: Atlas cedar, with its resinous and leathery tones, and Virginian cedar, with dry, spicy notes reminiscent of pencil shavings.
Cèdre by Headspace is a fragrant ode to Paris: a city between books and light, fire and poetry.

Woody
Woody fragrances are full of character and indeed very woodsy. They can be warm, soothing and creamy, but also dry and spicy. Key ingredients are cedar wood, patchouli, sandalwood and/or vetiver. Oudh (agarwood), Palo Santo and guaiac wood have also joined the perfumer's palet, just like the fantastic synthetics such as Javanol or Iso-E-Super.

Julien Rasquinet
Julien Rasquinet originally studied business, never imagining that perfumery would become his true passion. Everything changed after a chance meeting with legendary perfumer Pierre Bourdon, who saw potential in him and became his mentor despite his lack of a perfume education. Today, Julien splits his time between Paris and Dubai, drawing inspiration from the vibrant scents of the East. He’s the creative force behind standout fragrances for brands like BDK Parfums (including Tabac Rose and Ambre Safrano), Amouage, and Naomi Goodsir. Julien’s work is defined by rich storytelling and innovative ingredients, always pushing beyond trends to craft unique olfactory experiences.
