Mystical, maybe. Sensual, for sure! This is anything but ecclesiastical incense. With Oliban, the perfumer takes the ancient sacred resin from the temple to direct it towards more voluptuous areas. Frankincense is the core of the perfume: this is a natural raw material, obtained by co-extraction of frankincense extract with the essential oil of cedarwood.
The perfume spreads a powerful incense scent in the top notes, followed by the warm, balsamic, and intensely woody animalistic of the cedar base, enhanced with a powerful dose of ambroxan.

Woody
Woody fragrances are full of character and indeed very woodsy. They can be warm, soothing and creamy, but also dry and spicy. Key ingredients are cedar wood, patchouli, sandalwood and/or vetiver. Oudh (agarwood), Palo Santo and guaiac wood have also joined the perfumer's palet, just like the fantastic synthetics such as Javanol or Iso-E-Super.
