Eau de parfum, eau de toilette, or extrait de parfum: what’s the difference?
Not all perfumes are the same — they differ not only in scent but also in their formulas and concentration. Eau de toilette (edt) typically contains 5–15% fragrance oil, offering a lighter, fresher impression. Eau de parfum (edp) has a higher concentration of 15–20%, resulting in a more intense and longer-lasting aroma. Extrait de parfum, also known as (pure) perfume, is the most concentrated form (up to 30%) and delivers the richest, most enduring scent experience.
