From the dewy green freshness of Japanese green tea to the aristocratic depth of a classic black tea: tea is one of the most versatile and beloved themes in haute parfumerie. In this exclusive Masterclass at Perfume Lounge, we dive into the world of 'Tea Scents'—fragrances that balance transparency with texture, and energy with calm.
Under the expert guidance of perfumer Chester and perfume maker Tanja, you will translate these delicate sensations into your own sophisticated, personal fragrance.
Our approach
We have distilled the complex art of composition into a practical method. You will work with a robust 'backbone' of modern molecules to give your creation structure and a stunning sillage.
Choose your main path:
- Green Tea: Bright and botanical, with notes of crisp green tea leaves. Great to be combined with e.g. jasmin or fruits.
- Black Tea: Rich and mysterious, featuring deepness and hints of dried fruit. What about combining this with bergamot or spices?
The magic ingredient
Experience the rare opportunity to work with natural Mate Absolute, the "gold standard" for an authentic tea 'bite'. By blending this raw extract with iconic molecules like e.g. Hedione and Iso E Super, you will create a fragrance that feels both artisanal and modern.
What to expect
While the art of perfumery takes years to master, this afternoon offers an inspiring and educational introduction—an interactive, sensory experience in an intimate group (max. 7 participants).

Structure of the afternoon
Part I: Inspiration – An informative introduction to the history, chemistry, and composition of tea perfumes. Discover existing tea perfumes for your inspiration and the building blocks that make a tea fragrance truly "breathe."
Part II: Composition – It is time to create! Whether you prefer a soft, zen-like green tea or a spicy, bold black tea, the choice is yours. Explore additional modifiers like fruits, florals, and spices to develop your unique signature.
Part III: Finalizing – Once you are delighted with your result, we will record your unique formula and prepare 50 ml of your personal creation to take home.
