Congratulations to our colleague, perfumer Chester Gibs, on the launch of his second fragrance. Following Walk with Me - Annindriya, we now have Before the World Moved Again.
This fragrance is not about a destination, a ritual or faith but about a pause: the moment when movement pauses and attention shifts from haste to presence in the now.
The inspiration comes from a real-life moment in Chester Gibs’s life. Whilst walking through an alleyway in Bali, he saw a woman kneeling and carefully preparing a daily offering—a canang sari—with devotion and precision. It was not the ritual itself that mattered, but the attention behind it. That stillness seemed to slow down time, invited silence and changed everything without demanding anything.

Before the World Moved Again captures that sensation: serenity without heaviness, contemplation without detachment. A fragrance that offers space for reflection, breath and awareness. Not a memory or a lesson, but a moment.
Before The World Moved Again is a spicy, floral, woody composition—an invitation to contemplation. Each edition of New Niche is created in collaboration with a visual artist. For this edition, painter Ivana Rubelj translated the fragrance into form and colour; her work adorns the packaging as a visual interpretation of Before the World Moved Again.

Meet Chester Gibs, a multi talent and new star on the perfumery horizon. His first fragrance, Walk with Me, is made in collaboration with Amsterdam's newest niche perfume house Annindriya. Having graduated from The Rietveld Academy of Fine Arts in 2002, drawing is one of his big passions. Above all, Chester is an artist — an olfactive artist.
